Corrections policy

Africentra News aims to be accurate. When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so clearly.

How we correct

  • Factual errors are corrected in the article, and a note at the end explains what was changed and when, for example: Correction (18 October 2026): An earlier version of this article misstated the date of the meeting.
  • Serious errors that change the meaning of a story are noted at the top of the article as well.
  • Minor errors such as spelling or grammar mistakes that do not change the meaning may be fixed without a note.
  • Updates: when we add new information to a story, we note that it has been updated.

We do not quietly change the substance of a published story.

How to request a correction

Email contact@africentra.com with "Correction request" in the subject line. Please include:

  • a link to the article,
  • what you believe is wrong, and
  • any evidence that supports the correction.

We aim to acknowledge requests within 2 working days. An editor reviews every request.

Right of reply

If you or your organisation was the subject of a story and you want to respond, contact us at the same address. Where appropriate we will add your response to the article.

Removing articles

We do not remove accurate journalism because it is unwelcome. In exceptional cases, for example where a story puts someone at risk or is seriously inaccurate and cannot be corrected, editors may update, anonymise or unpublish it.
